POLICE K9 SCHOOL
The idea of using dogs in Law Enforecement is not knew,
but the utilization of trained dogs in professional duties has come into prominence in the past thirty years. Used mainly for sentry dogs in World War I, trained dogs were used for many important functions in World War II enabling many humans to perform vital defense tasks.
House pets by day and useful law enforcement aids at night, trained dogs have become efficient in police work - saving lives, protecting property, apprehending criminals, preventing crimes and detecting Drugs, Guns, Bombs, Flammable Material and Human Beings.
The mission of your K-9 Unit will be three fold:
* To prevent and detect crime
* To apprehend Criminals
* To protect the life and property of citizens
The primary use of dogs would be on local beats and on wider more ranging car patrols.
Using a dog will double the coverage area of a single policeman and the knowledge of having an efficient and well-trained partner as a companion will alleviate the officer's sense of loneliness in patrolling dark and menacing areas.
Since man/dog teams are extremely efficient and cover a wide range of territory, they will be assigned to potentially troubled areas. The dogs will be especially useful in several ways including dispersing and controlling crowds or mobs, searching areas or buildings and in the apprehension of criminals.
